Fredericktown, MO, April 1, 2019 – Cap America, Inc. awards Gerald Pinkley the role of Market Development Manager. Pinkley will be tasked with the duties of managing sales activities as well as identifying the needs of and marketing to both new and existing customers.
Pinkley is stepping in to fill a vital role for the expanding company and brings a wealth of knowledge from 27 years in the retail operations field. He will report to the company President and COO, Mark Gammon. Gammon states, “Gerald is a great addition to the Cap America team. His years of experience, successful projects, and strong relationships make him the ideal fit for our plans to continue forging strong partnerships.”
Gerald, who earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State University, has previous experience implementing and coordinating corporate merchandising and has been recognized for leading improvements among personnel teams.
“I am excited for the opportunity to apply my expertise in this new role for a company that has proven to be innovative and committed to the success of its clients and employees,” Pinkley said.
Cap America honors the memory of Richard May, a valued member of the Cap America family. Richard and Mr. Phil Page met over 35 years ago while working at International Hat together, and Mr. Page credits much of the success of Cap America to Richard and his service to the company. Richard touched many lives while working alongside us and will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
Cap America started 2019 off strong, bringing home two awards in January. First, Cap America won the 2019 Counselor Distributor Choice Award in the category of Caps and Hats. For the Counselor Distributor Choice Awards, distributors across North America choose which companies to honor by voting for their most valued supplier. Winners are selected based on votes and data from ASI’s Supplier Performance Ratings. All told, 193 finalists qualified in 50 product categories. Cap America also brought home a PPAI 2019 Silver Pyramid in Technology for our mobile website. The new Cap America website was designed to allow customers a seamless transition between devices. The website is scalable and therefore accessible and fully functional through mobile phones, tablets, laptops, or desktops.
Fredericktown, MO, November 14, 2018 – Cap America, Inc. hosted Southeast Missouri State University students participating in a job shadowing experience organized by the university’s President’s Leadership Academy. Twenty students participated in the experience, with degree plans ranging from international studies to finance.
Mark Gammon, COO and President, was excited to welcome the students. “The promotional products industry is a wonderful career field that many young students and future leaders are not aware of. By hosting this Business Learning Community, we are able to educate these future professionals about the industry we all know and love.”
Cap America’s Human Resources Director Sarah Burgin stated, “This opportunity is an excellent way for these students to learn about our industry as well as possible internships in the near future. Our company is growing and we look forward to welcoming young, new talent to our team and into our industry.”
The students first toured the facility, then broke into smaller groups to shadow different department leaders including human resources, finance, marketing, graphic design, overseas operations, production, and purchasing. Afterwards, the students met once again with company leadership for a Q and A session and to enjoy refreshments before returning to campus.
Fredericktown, MO, October 15, 2018 – Cap America, Inc. is proud to announce the expansion of its team with the addition of Belinda Stevens as Digitizing Manager.
Stevens brings 22 years of experience to the position, most recently working as a Creative Manager for a distributor within the promotional products industry.
Duties for Stevens will include coordination of daily workflow throughout the department, skill development training of staff, as well as platform and process oversight. She will report to VP of Operations Tom Gillespie who shared, “We are eager to have Belinda on site and look to benefit quickly from the proficiency and technical expertise she brings to this role.”
Stevens states, “I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity with Cap America. I have always admired the quality work they’ve provided their clients and can’t wait to be part of the team.”

FREDERICKTOWN, MO, December 4, 2018 – At the annual sales meeting held November 29, 2018 in St. Louis, Missouri, Chairman and CEO Phil Page, Senior VP Bob Rauh, President and COO Mark Gammon, National Sales Manager Cory Cissell, and Director of Sales Grace Schettler presented C&C Marketing with the Distinguished Sales Award. WesCo Marketing represents the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. “This isn’t the first award Larry has brought home this year. His hard work and dedication is definitely noticed and appreciated,” National Sales Manager Cory Cissell said.
Fredericktown, MO, September 28, 2018 – Cap America, Inc. congratulates John Cooper on his promotion to Chief Information Officer. Cooper is a 25 year veteran of the company and has held various positions of increasing responsibility within the organization.
Mr. Cooper will be reporting to CFO Trae Hastings who comments, “Information Technology is large part of driving business growth and innovation. John’s leadership and experience have been critical to maintaining the information technology capabilities we need to fulfill our goals.”
In his new role Cooper will provide leadership, management and guidance to the senior leadership team on all matters relating to the technology strategy of the company as well as oversee technology partnerships, process engineering efforts and core shared infrastructure.
Cooper states, “It’s exciting to be a part of the technology strategy to deliver value across the organization; I look forward to what the future holds.”

Cap America’s goal is to protect not only our own 270 employees, but also the surrounding community and all of Missouri’s small businesses and their workers.
Phil stated this morning: “We employ 275 people in Fredericktown and rely heavily on imported cloth caps for our product. The Administration’s tariffs are threatening our bottom line, as well as the significant economic activity that we bring to the state. On top of that, the scariest part of this is the uncertainty. I’m glad that Senator McCaskill is standing with Missouri businesses that are being undermined by these tariffs, and I know she won’t stop fighting for us.”
